Believe

I copied this word for word from my sister blog. I am leaving tomorrow morning to Utah and I didn't have time to think of the right words but I couldn't have said it better than Mariah.

We've been holding our breath all day & evening waiting for the word. Believing in the meantime that our prayers would call down the powers of Heaven. This is the power of miracles. My mom's tumor is gone. It was not lymphoma. From what the doctor could tell, her optic nerve was not damaged & it relaxed back into place once the intruder was gone. For all intensive purposes, it is the happiest outcome we could have hoped for. In the doctor's words it is a mystery to him how a tumor that size did not damage her sight.

There are still miles to go before she is back to normal & we'll now be praying for an obstacle free & full recovery. Please join us in this effort once again.

And don't forget to keep on believing.

Freeze Time

When I was getting my boys ready for school this morning Samuel said to me "Mom I wish I had enough Faith that I could stop time and then it would freeze and then we wouldn't be late for school". I thought that was so profound and funny at the same time. Wouldn't it be great to stop time. I thought also of times in my life when I have had great amounts of Faith. I remember when I was a teenager and watching my Mom go through a difficult birth. One in which she lost the baby and it was still born. A couple of years later she got pregnant again. I thought how could she do this again. What if this child is gone too? She did have a healthly baby boy. All along having the greatest amount of Faith that anyone could have she got through some difficult times. I remember what an example she was to me so that I could gain my own Faith. Then life goes on and someitmes it gets stronger and sometimes it is tested. I know that as we go through trials our Faith will get stronger if we lean and listen to Heavenly Father. I want to freeze time but I know that I would never learn. Isn't that what life is all about it learning.

Fear Not I am With Thee

I recieved some bad news this week that my Mom has a brain tumor. I have pondered and thought about this so much this week sometimes I don't even know what I am thinking. My wonderful Mom has chronicled her events on her website. www.sherriejohnson.blogspot.com. I am always inspired by her faith and her wonderful testimony of the gospel. I am the person I am today because of my Mother. I am amazed at the sacrifice that she made in so many ways to raise such a wonderful family. Because of her I have been taught how to pray and learn from our trials. When I heard the news of my Mother I began to pray and think about what to say. I have never felt a more peaceful feeling in my whole life. I feel so comforted. One day I was driving around and I was thinking about everything when I read a sign out in front of a church( very popular here in the south). The sign said " Fear Not I am with Thee" Isaiah 41:10. It hit me like a bolt of lighting. My first thought was He is with me. Then the second thought was I can't have Fear and have Faith. The two just don't go together. Right now I need to lean onto my Faith. It is hard to overcome that Fear. Over and over again that scripture keeps ringing in my ears Fear Not I am With Thee. My Mom's operation will be Friday. I will pray for her and I know my Faith will get me through this right now. I am strong because my Mother taught me to be strong. I love you Mom !!
